Minimum age L-Test   16 1/2 years (must be resident of NT)
Documents to take when sitting for test Birth Certificate or Passport Proof of Address (Bank Statement), Proof of Signature/Document
Road code book $ 6.00 from MVR offices or police stations
Waiting period if fail Next  day
Theory test Multiple choice questions. Free test. 
Learner's license Payment after passing test $ 53.50, includes fee for first practical test!

Driving Test    P

Minimum age   $ 26.40
Practical Test*  17 years, or earlier with permission from parent or guardian.
Cost of license $ 24 (one year)
Eyesight test  Yes, to obtain Learner's permit
Automatic restriction No restriction, if test taken in Automatic vehicle.

Above costs do not include the hire of vehicle, which must be supplied by the applicant
