19. LONG VEHICLES NEED SPACE
Every motorist must know the meaning of road signs and take the appropriate action. This careless driver did neither.
The large Semi-trailers had to enter the side-road from the right-hand lane. In this case, the turn could not be completed otherwise. The driver did not pay attention and proceeded to overtake.
The truck driver must share some of the blame. Is it not often the case that when two drivers, at the same time and place, make a mistake, crashes happen.
Long vehicles display this sign at the rear. Do not overtake this vehicle when it is indicating to turn.
Turning trucks take space!
Do not overtake when turning!
On right-hand turns a long vehicle may encroach into your lane. Overtake only after the turn. Red/yellow striping, as displayed on the rear of this semi-trailer, may replace the sign.
