CANDLE AND THE WIND
|
|
Hi all, Reading the new title many thought of ELTON or Lady Di and the song 'Candle in the wind'. Originally this song was about M. Monroe. Picture a flickering candle and compare it with your faith. Inside the shelter of a church there is little chance of it blowing out. But it does not give any light to those outside. Our candle, our light, our faith must leave the comfort zone and be a light to our community. If the wind blows strong, be assured HE will shield our flame with HIS hand. Let's continue to go out and shine our light into a world hungry for truth and hope. Dieter Fischer, Adelaide, 30 July 05 Link to our driving-school website Christ is all and in all. (Colossians 3, 11) For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him. (Psalm 103, 11) This is my commandment, that you love one another as I loved you. (John 15,12) Indeed, we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord - that the Lord is very compassionate and mercyful. (James 5, 11) But the word of the Lord endures forever. (1. Peter 1, 25) For God has not given to us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2. Timothy 1, 7) It is an abomination for kings to commit wickedness, for a throne is established by righteousness. (Proverbs 16,12) Lord, You will establish peace for us, for You have done all our works in us. (Isaiah 26,12) Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord! (Psalm 150.6) Behold a virgin shall be with child, and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel, which is translated 'God with us". (Matthew 1, 23) So we may boldly say: The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me? (Hebrews 13,6 Shall words of wind have an end? Or what provokes You that You answer? (Job, 16,3) The works of the Lord are great, studied by all who have pleasure in them. (Psalm 111,2) |
